If you're not familiar with me, I'm known as the decluttering and organization guy. I was born and raised in Australia in a tiny town 25 miles outside of Melbourne. I’m now a dual citizen of America and Australia. I'm the middle child of three brothers and three sisters, but all of my siblings live in Australia where I visit often to be with them.

When I was sixteen I came to the United States as an exchange student, living in southeastern Utah for a year and graduated high school in Moab. I loved it! The idea of working with kids was always attractive to me so I went to college in Australia and graduated as a teacher and taught high school math, science and graphic art. My background in education led me to work in drug abuse prevention and health promotion in Australia and then in developing health, education and training programs for schools and corporations.

In 1994, I came to the United States and launched a company that produced workplace training programs that helped employees with their interpersonal and communication skills. All of these past experiences came together when my training experience and interest in organizational change in the workplace and in homes caught the attention of the producers of the hit TLC show CLEAN SWEEP. We ended up making more than 120 episodes and helped thousands of people get excited about decluttering and organizing their homes and their lives.

Helping people live rich and full lives without drowning in their stuff continues to be the focus of most of my work. In 2007, I was lucky enough to be asked to work on an episode of THE OPRAH WINFREY SHOW.  That episode turned into a regular position on her show as the “Get Your Whole Life Organized Guy”.

In January 2011, we launched ENOUGH ALREADY! WITH PETER WALSH on OWN (the new Oprah Winfrey Network).  I’ve been fortunate to have a regular column in her O MAGAZINE and hosted a regular show on her XM/Sirius Radio Channel too.

As well as my work on TV, I've written a few best-selling books about clutter and organization. My first (and favorite) is It's All Too Much: An Easy Plan for Living a Richer Life with Less Stuff.

Other titles of my books are:  How To Organize (Just About) Everything, Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat, Enough Already!, and, Lighten Up.  I’ve also made a DVD of “It’s All Too Much” which has tons of tips for organizing your entire home.

Whether it’s designing cool organizing products, talking on the radio, giving interviews or helping people turn their clutter and chaos into calm, I’m pretty busy!  I live in Los Angeles with my long-term partner. We have no kids, pets, or, plants.  So, some may say I have an advantage in being organized

Why I started “The Peter Walsh Store” at Organize.com.

It’s pretty simple really.  I do believe that you (and most people) have gotten the message that living a clutter-free organized life can have an enormous positive impact on your life.  The problem that I hear all the time is many people struggle with HOW to get that life.

My books and television shows have concentrated on how to get rid of the clutter of that’s been holding you back.  But, until now, I hadn’t concentrated on the products that can really help you significantly in your home.

When I met Deborah Shearer and the team at Organize.com , I knew we shared the same vision.  Deborah LOVES organizing products – and knows them inside and out.  She and her husband Terry started Organize.com  in 1998.  After having worked in the industry for 30+ years, I dare you to find anyone who knows organizing products better than Deborah and Terry do.  She’s even taught ME which products are fantastic and which ones are better to stay away from.

So, together, we have started The Peter Walsh Store at Organize.com  with a goal of providing you with the SOLUTIONS you need to get your spaces (and life) more organized.  I couldn’t be more excited about this venture!  We’ve set this site up to offer you practical solutions to some of your most challenging organizing problems.

But, I really do need your feedback – you will find on most pages of the site a button that says “Ask Peter”.  That’s a place for you to communicate directly with me… ask me a question about organizing… or leave me a comment about what you think of the site so far.  We’re here to make this site work for you – so please let me know what’s working and what’s not!

I hope you enjoy The Peter Walsh Store and your soon-to-be, less-stressed, newly organized life!

Thanks,
